Hermia is the daughter of Egeus, who has decided that she is to marry Demetrius. But Hermia loves Lysander and runs away with him into the forest. Hot on their heels are Demetrius and Helena, whose love for Demetrius is unrequited. The forest is ruled by Oberon, King of the Fairies. His world has been turned upside down by a nasty dispute with his wife, Titania. In order to get on her good side again, Oberon tells Puck the goblin to get him a love potion that will enable him to manipulate Titania. The potion works and Titania proceeds to fall in love with Nick Bottom, who is a member of a theater group that is in the forest rehearsing a play for the wedding. Puck also interferes with the four young Athenians – and some crazy things happen as a result. In the end, there’s plenty of conflict, chaos, and anarchy to go around. Nothing is as it seems, and nothing will ever be the same. Still, every dream eventually comes to an end.

The actor and director Matthias Mosbach, who has been working closely with the RambaZamba Ensemble for many years, is directing the RambaZamba Theater’s production of Shakespeare’s play about love’s trials and tribulations, the fluid boundaries between the sensual and the supernatural, and the realm in which dreams and reality meet.
