Visit from the Eastern Zone

Fritzi Haberlandt, Milan Peschel, and members of the inclusive RambaZamba Theater read the episode Visit from the Eastern Zone (1973) from Wolfgang Menge’s cult television series Ein Herz und eine Seele (One Heart and One Soul). In the episode, the reactionary Alfred receives relatives visiting from the GDR. Not only are the parents of his “red” son-in-law coming at all — they also arrive right in the middle of the football World Cup coverage. In typically satirical clashes, different worlds collide. It promises to be an extremely cozy evening.

Stage and film actress Fritzi Haberlandt was a permanent ensemble member at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg and at Berlin’s Maxim Gorki Theater under the artistic direction of Armin Petras. She has received numerous awards for her work in film and television, including the German Film Award. In the acclaimed ARD series Babylon Berlin, Fritzi Haberlandt plays a recurring leading role, as she does in the Amazon series Deutschland 86 and Deutschland 89.

As a theatre actor, Milan Peschel has worked with directors such as Frank Castorf, Dimiter Gotscheff, Armin Petras, Jan Bosse, and René Pollesch. Alongside his stage work, he has appeared in numerous television and film productions. Since 2006, he has also worked regularly as a director, staging productions in Heidelberg, Hanover, and Schwerin, as well as at the Maxim Gorki Theater and Deutsches Theater Berlin. In the 2024/25 season, he directed the production Murder on the Regional Express at RambaZamba Theater.

Hi Freaks is a benefit event series by RZt. For more than 30 years, actors with disabilities have collaborated with renowned guests from the German cultural scene to create wild and exciting theatre experiences. Old and new friends of the theatre are invited to read, perform, or make music together with the ensemble. The proceeds support the theatre’s infrastructure as well as the training of new performers.
