Rainald Grebe sings again!
The songwriter and director suffered strokes and spent a long time in hospital and rehabilitation. Accompanied by guitarist Marcus Baumgart, he now performs songs that, until recently, he had sung only to his speech therapist. At RambaZamba Theater, Grebe returns to the stage and “remembers the past — as best he can.”
Rainald Grebe is a songwriter, cabaret artist, author, and director. He became widely known through songs such as Brandenburg and Berlin, Berlin, in which he portrays German mentalities with sharp observation, musical versatility, and biting humor. Alongside his musical work, Grebe regularly works on theatre productions.
At RambaZamba Theater, Grebe directed the musical theatre evening Musikantenstadl during the 2024/2025 season, a playful and critical exploration of folk music and German television history.
Hi Freaks is a benefit event series by RambaZamba Theater. For more than 30 years, actors with disabilities have collaborated with renowned guests from the German cultural scene to create wild and exciting theatre experiences. Old and new friends of the theatre are invited to read, perform, or make music together with the ensemble. The proceeds support the theatre’s infrastructure as well as the training of new performers.
